exile since 2020. The jury awards him the Book Prize for European Understanding for his novel &#8220;Europe&#8217;s Dogs&#8221;, a furious literary vision of the future. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Textstyled__Text-sc-1cqv9mi-0 iJFQHq\"><span class=\"Textstyled__Text-sc-1cqv9mi-0 kHkqwO\">According to the jury&#8217;s statement, his novel &#8220;bursts at the narrative seams with a furious literary vision of the future&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"Adstyled__AdWrapper-sc-5klka0-2 gdWfij\">\n<div id=\"mad_d_incontent-1\" class=\"Adstyled__Ad-sc-5klka0-0 deXfuI\" data-testid=\"ad\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"mad_m_incontent-1-container\" class=\"Adstyled__MinHeightContainerForStickyAd-sc-5klka0-6 cESWRe\">\n<div class=\"Adstyled__AdWrapper-sc-5klka0-2 iNbyBI\">\n<div id=\"mad_m_incontent-1\" class=\"Adstyled__Ad-sc-5klka0-0 deXfuI\" data-testid=\"ad\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"Textstyled__Text-sc-1cqv9mi-0 iJFQHq\">The &#8220;wild mixture of political thriller, epic, adventure story, satire and fairy tale&#8221; leads into &#8220;the darkest nooks and crannies of the present&#8221;. There, the author creates sparks from the contradictions, which he lets &#8220;burn up in the year 2050 between Minsk, Vilnius, a Mediterranean island, Hamburg, Prague and Berlin&#8221;. The prize is a tribute to literature, said jury member Maike Albath after the announcement.
