What relationship do you have to your home country from which you were forcibly expelled? How do you live in a foreign country that you now have to call home? These and other questions are the focus of the reading as part of the series: “Narrated Identity” with the author Shida Bazyar on her debut novel “Nachts ist es leise in Teheran” (2016). The target group are students from Bremen who are working on this text for their Abitur. Narrated from the perspective of various family members, the novel features characters from several generations, each recounting their personal experiences during the Iranian revolution from their own point of view. A novel about flight, home, hope and love. The readings are free of charge for schools in Bremen. The event is supported by the University of Bremen Foundation.<\/p>\n

Workshops<\/strong>: In addition to the reading, workshops are offered for upper secondary school classes (also available at local schools). The aim is direct contact with the author and an approach to the novel using theatrical pedagogical approaches.

*Shida Bazyar:<\/p>\n

\u00b01988, Hermeskeil (Germany) Shida Bazyar is a German writer with Iranian roots. She initially studied creative writing and cultural journalism in Hildesheim and works as an educational consultant in Berlin. Her debut novel “Nachts ist es leise in Teheran” (2016) was awarded the Ulla Hahn Author’s Prize, among others. In her texts, Bazyar deals with experiences of racism and sexism. She is also a founding member of PEN Berlin. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
