As part of the “Narrated Identity” event, a reading and subsequent discussion with the author Olga Grjasnowa on her debut novel “Der Russe ist einer, der Birken liebt” (2012) will take place on January 31 as part of the young globale\u00b0 in cooperation with Theater Bremen. The target group are students from Bremen who are working on this text for their Abitur. The story focuses on war, grief and repressed memories of war: After the death of her boyfriend, the protagonist of Jewish origin travels to Israel for her aspired career as an interpreter. There, memories of her war-torn childhood catch up with her. A search for home and identity begins. The readings are free of charge for schools in Bremen. Workshops<\/strong>: In addition to the reading, workshops are offered for upper secondary school classes (also at local schools). The aim is direct contact with the author and an approach to the novel using theater pedagogical approaches. <\/p>\n

*Olga Grjasnowa:<\/p>\n

\u00b0 1984, Baku (Azerbaijan) Olga Grjasnowa is an author and language professor at the Institute of Language Arts at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. She studied literary writing and dance studies in Leipzig and Berlin. She has received numerous prizes and scholarships for her literary work. Several works, including “Der Russe ist einer, der Birken liebt” (2012), have been dramatized for the theater. Gryaznova is a member of the Goethe-Institut. She now lives in Berlin. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
