In the shimmering Cairo of the 1980s, the path of a young doctor seems to be mapped out. Under the stern gaze of his family, Tarek continues his late father’s prestigious practice. When he opens an outpatient clinic in a poor neighborhood, it feels like a stroke of liberation. There he meets Ali, a young man from the neighborhood.
