Wanda, a young social psychologist, has traveled to Venice to interview Mrugalski, a scientist who has long lived there in exile, about his research. Or is *
* more about his life? It seems there is a sense of suspicion between them. Neither of them is being entirely candid, and yet they are bound by a relationship\u2014perhaps fated\u2014that points beyond who they are today.

With his new novel, Matthias Nawrat returns to the grand narrative of contemporary history. *Das gl\u00fcckliche Schicksal* follows <\/strong>two generations on their journey through various social systems, delving deep into recent European history and exploring the questions that the human condition poses to us.

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tMatthias Nawrat \t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\tBorn in 1979 in Opole, Poland, he emigrated with his family to Bamberg in Franconia at the age of ten. Matthias Nawrat studied biology in Freiburg im Breisgau and Heidelberg from 2000 to 2007, and in 2009 he began his studies at the Swiss Literature Institute. Since his debut novel *Wir zwei allein* (2012), Nawrat has published additional novels, essays, and poetry collections.
