20.9 War in the city A poetry workshop (online) with New York poet Rosi Hertlein, 4 pm

In conjunction with Birgit Ramsauer’s exhibition “After…After…” at Villa Ichon, New York-based poet, musician and visual artist Rosi Hertlein is offering a two-hour online poetry workshop dedicated to the topic of “War in the City”. Participants can discuss the topic together and try out different forms of poetry under the guidance of Rosi Hertlein.

This workshop is aimed at participants aged 18 and over and will be held in German. Previous knowledge of literary writing is not necessary, beginners and advanced writers are welcome.

The workshop will take place online on September 20 from 4 – 6 pm.

The participation fee is 18 euros.

Nuremberg-born poet, musician and visual artist Rosi Hertlein has lived and worked in New York for 30 years. She combines her musical activities with her poems, which she sets to music or accompanies with freely improvised music. Some of her poems have been published in “Blue Door Quarterly”, the Journal of Literature and Art, as well as interviews on music and artistic concepts in “Giving Birth to Sound: Women in Creative Music” (Buddy’s Knife, 2015) and in “Outside Music, Inside Voices: Dialogues on Improvisation and the Spirit of Creative Music” (Mimesis International, 2016).

In her collaborations with the artist Birgit Ramsauer, she has produced two videos that have been shown at various events, and has also translated several books and texts by Birgit Ramsauer accompanying exhibitions into English.

Birgit Ramsauer’s exhibition “After…After…” at Villa Ichon is a reflection on the events that led to the collapse of the Twin Towers in New York and the life-changing political consequences with their worldwide impact to this day. The exhibition runs until October 18. More information at:
