The New Wall
Bodo Ramelow in conversation with Nine-Christine Müller about the East
Bodo Ramelow is coming to Bremen: He will read from his book “The New Wall”, written together with Ilko-Sascha Kowalczuk, and talk to Nine-Christine Müller about all-German democratic history and the present and about what happened in the so-called “East” after 1990.
Bodo Ramelow has been politically active in East Germany since 1990 and was Minister President of Thuringia from 2014 to 2024. Together with Ilko-Sascha Kowalczuk, in “The New Wall” he looks for the causes of the AfD’s sweeping election victory in the new federal states and the prospects for our democracy. After all, the “new wall” not only runs along the former German-German border, but also between the defenders of democracy and those who – deliberately or recklessly – put it at risk.
Moderation: Nine-Christine Müller (Host “Ostwärts” Podcast)
Duration: 90 minutes, without break
