Love is looking for a room (Rowohlt 2025) , a novel from the Warsaw ghetto by bestselling author David Safier

In the Warsaw ghetto in 1942, music, laughter and applause can be heard from a small side street. A play is celebrating its premiere, a cheerful musical comedy called “Love Seeks a Room”. The young actress Sara waits nervously for her performance. With shining eyes, she watches her great love Edmund from the edge of the stage as he captivates the audience and makes them forget their misery. Then Michal, the director of the theater and her ex, approaches her and makes Sara a tempting offer: he will flee the ghetto after the performance and offers her a ticket to freedom. The novel “Love Seeks a Room” is based on true events.
