Three sisters, united in their longing for the great freedom that was a sweet promise in West Germany in the 1980s:

Mira wants to break out of the constraints of her proletarian parental home, politicizes herself and dreams of being a poet. Juli finds it difficult to find her own way when she constantly has to patronize Mira. Her older sister Ella has risen through the social ranks through marriage and is catapulted into the patterns of her past by the problems of the younger girl.
