Towing Wind
Mira Zehmann is a family doctor, a mother, and a wife. She comes from a Jewish family in Odessa,
years ago, she and her husband left Ukraine to build a new life in Germany—for themselves and their young daughter. But when bombs begin to explode in her old homeland, her world is turned upside down, and a relentless gale sweeps through her life.
The family practice becomes a place of refuge; the line of Ukrainian patients is long, and they all want to see Mira, seeking comfort, healing, and compassion. Will an affair help Mira overcome her frustration with her mother-in-law’s seemingly endless visit? As Mira watches her patients navigate between two worlds, one thing is clear to her: she must go to Odessa, visit her grandmother, who is over ninety, see the sea, and go dancing with her friends.
