26.09. globale° revisited. Writing in Exile, 7:00 p.m.

As part of the local festival for pluralistic democracy

Conversation with Tania Arcimovich, Fariba Vafi, Karima Shabrang, and Svenja Leiber.
Moderator: Maha El Hissy
Translation (Persian–German): Jutta Himmelreich

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event as part of the heimaten festival, globale°—in collaboration with Weiter Schreiben—brings together authors’ perspectives that, especially in these times, are being given less and less space in public discourse and are in danger of being lost amid the tangle of crises and budget cuts. The event will focus on writing in exile and across languages, the production of literature in Germany today, and the place of marginalized voices within it.

At the 2026 “heimaten” festival, female authors from Belarus, Afghanistan, and Iran will come together to discuss their experiences in the present day.

A collaboration between Haus der Kulturen der Welt, globale° – Festival for Transnational Literature e.V., Weiter Schreiben, the Belarusian Community “Razam” e.V., and the Weserburg Museum of Modern Art.
