Free reading with Azouz Begag for French courses (April 27/28, 2026)

Dear French teachers in Bremen,
I am very pleased to be able to make you a special offer:

The author Azouz Begag will be on a reading tour in northern Germany at the end of April 2026 at the invitation of the Mehdorn Family Foundation and – if there is sufficient interest – will also be happy to come to Bremen!

What:
Reading & talk with Azouz Begag

When?
probably April 27 or 28, 2026 (during the day)

Where?
University of Bremen
(Campus or Forum am Domshof)

Costs?
Participation is free of charge
(financed by junge globale°)

The focus is on the work Né pour partir (2025), which he co-authored with Mamadou Sow. The book tells Sow’s story as an unaccompanied minor refugee from Guinea and was awarded the Prix des lycéens allemands 2025 (annotated Klett edition, B2).

The reading provides direct access to French-language literature – and at the same time, your students can discover the university as an exciting place to learn. Perhaps your courses are already taking up the book or you are using the event as an opportunity to deal with the topic.

Registration by December 14 at the latest
Please register your learning group with group size + school via
e-mail: globale@uni-bremen.de

I will be happy to help you with any questions.

Please also forward this invitation to interested colleagues and specialist groups. I look forward to receiving a lot of feedback. The final decision on whether to hold the reading will be made after the registration deadline, as the author will then decide which dates he can attend.
