Katja Reider worked as a press officer for ‘Jugend forscht’ before she discovered writing for herself. Since then, she has written numerous books for children of all ages. Her bestselling series about the love-struck pigs Rosalie and Trüffel has been translated into over 20 languages. Her picture book Bestimmer sein – Wie Elvis die Demokratie erfand, with illustrations by Cornelia Haas, was shortlisted for the German Children’s Book Prize. She has been nominated for the prize again this year. The author lives in Hamburg and has been involved in promoting reading here for many years.
