°1977 in Bukovina (Ukraine); Oxana Matiychuk is a Germanist at the Chair of Foreign Literary History, Literary Theory and Slavic Philology at the Yuri Fedkovyč University of Chernivtsi in western Ukraine. She heads the Gedankendach Cultural Center, which was founded in autumn 2009 and was awarded the Georg Dehio Cultural Prize in 2023 for its ongoing commitment. She also writes the Ukrainian Diary column in the Süddeutsche Zeitung at irregular intervals.
