Royal Triceps
King Dedo II of Saxony has an image problem: too lanky, too queer, too introverted. While he rules from Buzickitz Castle via cell phone and shuns the public, his personal life falls apart. His partner, Marfa, leaves him, and the ultra-conservative media tear into him. So he starts hitting the gym to assert himself as a monarch.
His goal: a ruler built on muscle mass. But neither media scandals, heartbreak, nor his thoroughly unroyal sister can be worked away, and the self-proclaimed heir to the throne, Gero, is positioning himself for the throne. Cécil Ludwig Röski weaves together queerness, royal masculinity, and German history into a clever satire on the aristocracy.
“Trizeps Royal ” is a pop-culture tragicomedy about a Germany that has long since ceased to be a monarchy but still craves authority.
