28.10. Roundtable on the Future, 9:30 a.m.

Literary events always take place in the context of an audience and a public setting, with language at the center. For the most part, these events are held in the local language of the country where they take place. However, there are often practical obstacles to truly implementing multilingualism—whether due to a lack of language skills needed to accurately convey the semantic meaning of what is said, or financial constraints that prevent organizations from commissioning translations and interpretation services.

The panel discussion will therefore explore the question of what
practices and methods might exist to enable readings to become multilingual and
polyphonic.
