KIRMEN URIBE

°1970 in Ondarroa, Bizkaia, Spain. Kirmen Uribe Urbieta
is one of the most important contemporary authors in Spain
and winner of the Premio Nacional de Literatura for his
debut novel Bilbao-New York-Bilbao. Uribe writes his
works in Basque. They have been translated into over twenty languages
and appeared in The New Yorker and The Paris Review, among others. In 2018-2019, he was a writing fellow at the New York Public Library Cullman Center. The pre-life of the dolphins has emerged from this fellowship. Uribe currently lives in
New York City and teaches creative writing at
the New York University
